Port Chester man arrested for grabbing Eastern Middle School student

Hector J Romero Vargas, 31, of Port Chester, NY was arrested on Monday for grabbing a student on her way to Eastern Middle School. The incident happened on September 11, 2025 at around 8am. A student was approached by a stranger from behind at the intersection of Lockwood Road and Breezemont Avenue near the tennis courts. She was held for a few seconds and then quickly released. Raw deal: Greenwich's untreated sewage seeping into local rivers.

Sewage pipes in Greenwich might be leaking untreated wastewater into local waterways. Save the Sound found high levels of bacteria not just following heavy rainfall, but also on dry days. Greenwich property revaluation underway - what it means for your wallet

Greenwich has begun its state-mandated town-wide revaluation which will establish the October 1, 2025 Grand List property values. Assessment notices will be mailed to property owners in November 2025. You can informally appeal the results with the Assessors' Office through mid-January 2026.
