Stalker of Eastern Middle School Girl Arrested Again on Shocking Voyeurism Charges

The disturbing case of a man accused of stalking and assaulting a Greenwich middle school student in September 2025 has taken an even darker turn.
Hector J. Romero Vargas, 31, of Port Chester, NY—who previously served as a volunteer EMT in Stamford—was re-arrested on May 14, 2026. The new arrest came after a digital forensics team combed through his seized cell phone and uncovered evidence that vastly expands the scope of his alleged crimes.
According to police, Romero Vargas now faces:
One count of voyeurism involving a victim younger than 16
Four counts of voyeurism involving photographs taken for sexual gratification
One count of possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
The forensic investigation also uncovered screenshots and footage originating from a concealed video recording device that Romero Vargas had secretly installed inside a bathroom stall at an establishment in Greenwich.
