The renovated train station component of the $30 million Greenwich Crossing revitalization project is expected to open by the end of December 2025. Construction began on the redesigned main train station in Greenwich in October 2024. Renovations of the contiguous retail spaces are expected to be completed in the coming months. Sewage pipes in Greenwich might be leaking untreated wastewater into local waterways. Save the Sound found high levels of bacteria not just following heavy rainfall, but also on dry days. The town of Greenwich was just awarded a grant of nearly $50,000 from CT-DEEP's Trees for Communities Grant Program to plant trees in the Byram neighborhood of Western Greenwich. The project, entitled Byram Branches, aims to plant trees on both town property and private property in the Byram to increase the urban tree canopy.
