Town Budget - Decision Day Number One

Key Decisions: On Wednesday March 27, the Board of Estimate & Taxation (BET) met. Some of the most important decisions:

  • The Glenville Corridor Improvement Project of $2.87 million was unanimously added

  • The $200,000 was approved for sidewalks from Shore to Tod's with the condition that $125,000 would only be released once the BET reviews and approves the survey results with detail needed for Public Works to proceed with the next phase of the project and at least 2 public hearings are held.

More hearings set for Thursday. Decision Day #2. Starting with Old Greenwich School renovation funding.

Public Input March 25: It was an overflow crowd, requiring the Fire Marshall to move standing attendees to another room. About 70 spoke. The most popular pleas to maintain funding included Sidewalks to Tods, Old Greenwich School Renovation, Board of Ed Budget, Cos Cob Library, Riverside School feasibility, Glenville Corridor, Byram Safety. Only one spoke to keep taxes in check....
