The final day of voting in the municipal elections is Tuesday November 4. Campaigning goes on more than ever now because there is a new two-week period of early voting at Town Hall leading up to game day voting at your polling location tomorrow.

The town is littered with so many signs that First Selectman Camillo has instructed the Republican campaign to limit them so as not to obstruct the beauty of Greenwich's public spaces. Not sure this is a good idea because at every corner there are multiple Democrat signs making it appear that Democrats are more popular when there are more registered Republicans than Democrats in Greenwich.

Most campaigns recommend that you vote along party lines for Row B (Republican) or Row A (Democrat). Here is a list of the sample ballot by voting district. Here are the details about the Board of Selectmen (BOS), the Board of Estimate and Taxation (BET), the Board of Education (BOE) and the Representative Town Meeting (RTM).

The most baffling part of the Greenwich ballot is the last section listing all the members of the RTM who are running in your district - in alphabetical order. That's right, alphabetical order. Not by party affiliation. Why? It's a throwback to days when everyone knew each other and they wanted a non-partisan approach. Well, those days are over, and this model is used by only a handful of towns in Connecticut now. Imagine how confusing this is to new residents.

Between the Lines: This non-partisan approach only makes voters more confused. So if, like many, you don't know the many candidates on the RTM list, here is a handy look up by party affiliation.
