Old Greenwich Siblings' $1.2 million Deception Ends in Prison Time

A brother-sister duo from Old Greenwich has finally been held accountable after siphoning $1.2 million from 30 different state treasuries.

For nearly a decade—from 2013 to 2022—Henry J. White, Jr. exploited the "unclaimed property" system. By using the names of corporate entities he had no right to represent, he submitted fraudulent claims to state treasuries across the country. These checks were mailed directly to the siblings' shared home and deposited into a joint account to fund their mortgage and daily lifestyle.

The Sentences

The legal fallout for the pair concluded recently in federal court:

  • Henry J. White, Jr. (75): In December 2025, Henry was sentenced to 37 months in prison and ordered to pay $1.2 million in restitution. As reported here.

  • Patricia A. White (70): Last week, his sister received a sentence of nine months in prison and is also held responsible for the $1.2 million repayment.

Between the Lines: Tough justice for some "Old" Greenwich residents.
