Two suspects were arrested for a carjacking on Saturday Nov 8 around 4 pm in the mid-country section of Greenwich. According to social media posts, it may have happened on Zaccheus Mead Lane.

The victim was reported being physically forced out of their vehicle and then thrown to the ground, by an unknown suspect who then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle. The victim was not injured.

The responding officers learned that the suspects were likely two Hispanic males, wearing hooded sweatshirts and that a blue Audi may have been acting as a "trail vehicle." The police noted that many recent victims of similar incidents were targeted after visiting businesses located on or near the Post Road (East and West Putnam Avenue). Organized auto theft crews are known to operate along this major roadway, identifying and following potential victims before committing thefts.

The last notable carjacking that occurred in Greenwich was September 23, 2025 at 5 am on Windky Knolls in the Pemberwick area of Western Greenwich. The homeowner, barefoot and in boxers, confronted thieves attempting to steal a Honda Pilot from the driveway. An 18-year-old from Bridgeport fired a gun at the homeowner, who sustained minor injuries from shrapnel. The homeowner said, "I should be dead. Don't risk it." Story here.
