Sydney Sweeney is a 28-year-old American actress and producer who has rapidly become one of Hollywood's most prominent stars of Gen Z pop culture. If you are wondering why she is making local headlines right now, it’s because she was just spotted around town with her boyfriend—and Greenwich High School alum—Scott Samuel "Scooter" Braun.

Rumor has it the Hollywood power couple might have been in town for the ultimate relationship milestone: meeting the parents.

The Greenwich Visit

Sweeney caused a massive stir in town last weekend when she was spotted visiting local spots alongside her boyfriend, music talent manager Scooter Braun:

  • The Greenwich Concours d'Elegance: The premier luxury and vintage automotive event held at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park.

  • The Candy Connection: The popular sweet shop located on Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich.

Sydney Sweeney's Career

Sydney Sweeney is known for playing complex, deeply talked-about characters and successfully expanding her power behind the scenes as a Hollywood producer.

  • The Breakout TV Hits: She rose to fame for her twice Emmy-nominated performances on HBO. She played the fragile and chaotic Cassie Howard on the drama Euphoria and the cynical Olivia Mossbacher in the first season of The White Lotus.

  • Box Office Success: She has recently pivoted into major film roles. She produced and starred in the massive romantic comedy hit Anyone But You, and most recently starred in the thriller The Housemaid.

  • Industry Power Player: Just as sharp behind the camera, she runs her own production company, Fifty-Fifty Films. Under her own banner, she is actively developing high-profile projects, including the remake of the sci-fi cult classic Barbarella.

Scott Braun - a Greenwich Local

Scooter Braun lived in Cos Cob and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1999, where he played on the basketball team and served as class president. His parents are long-time locals who ran a prominent dental and orthodontics practice in the area—which explains why the couple may have been in town for some family face-time.

Braun is most famous for discovering a 12-year-old Justin Bieber on YouTube and launching his career, as well as managing mega-stars like Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and Kanye West before retiring from artist management to focus on corporate executive roles. He currently serves as a board member and shareholder of HYBE America, a Korean entertainment conglomerate.

Between the Lines: Boy from Cos Cob makes good, bringing home Hollywood star. With A-listers checking out classic cars and grabbing sweets in Old Greenwich, should we rebrand our web site Gossip Girl of Greenwich?
