While America is unwinding woke DEI policies, CT doubles down

CT Governor Ned Lamont appointed Mariana Monteiro to serve as head of the newly created Connecticut Office of Equity and Opportunity. Monteiro of Avon, CT, is an Argentinian-born human resources executive with experience from Lockheed, GE, Otis and Raytheon. Her salary is $175,000.

While the rest of the country is dismantling their DEI (Diversity Equity and Inclusion) programs in favor of meritocracy-based policies, Democrat-run states are doubling down on DEI programs to make sure that state offices are representative of racial, geographic, gender, ethnic and socioeconomic groups.

All state employees are now required to participate in trainings focused on diversity, equity and inclusion and all state agencies must develop an agency equity plan.
