At long last, Glenville residents have the news they’ve been waiting for: DeCicco & Sons will officially open its doors at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

Taking over the 20,000-square-foot space at 21 Glenville St.—vacant since Stop & Shop closed in June 2023—the market brings a full-service grocery store back to the neighborhood for the first time in over three years. Known for its gourmet deli, extensive prepared foods, and legendary craft beer selection, the store will also feature a juice bar, chopped salad station, and fresh sushi.

Founded in the Bronx in 1973, the family-owned business operates 11 locations across Westchester and Putnam counties. This marks its 12th location and its very first expansion into Connecticut.

Between the Lines: Grand openings at DeCicco & Sons traditionally feature extensive food tastings throughout the hot food bar, bakery, deli, and cheese departments—so expect plenty of samples on opening day. See you there!
