The Acme Market in central Greenwich to close soon

The Acme Market at 160 West Putnam Avenue in central Greenwich is slated to close the first week of October. The store opened under Acme management in 2015 and was once known as A&P Fresh. Albertsons owns Acme Markets and they have 3 other locations in CT, including stores in Riverside, Stamford and New Canaan.
The changeover of grocers is nothing new for Greenwich. In 2023, the Stop & Shop closed at 11 Glen Ridge Road in Glenville. A DeCicco & Sons is set to open there in the first quarter of 2026.
