Greenwich High School Junior assaulted at Byram Park

Update April 12: Police say it was a group of young people having a cookout who knew each other from Greenwich, Stamford and Port Chester and "racial overtones" may be a part of it. Police are trying to determine if the social media videos are accurate or have been altered. The victim was a female junior attending Greenwich High School.


Update 2pm April 11: The Greenwich Police have identified all 5 suspects, of whom 2 have already been arrested. They will be referred to Stamford Superior Court. ABC News Reports here.


April 9, at 8:25 pm: the Greenwich Police responded to a call that a teenage girl was assaulted by a large assembly of juveniles in Byram Park. Upon dispersing the group, officers discovered a teenage girl who had fallen victim to an assault. She was promptly transported to a local hospital, receiving treatment for minor injuries.


The gravity of the situation escalated when detectives ascertained that the assault had been recorded and the footage distributed across various social media platforms. This development has intensified the search for the perpetrators.
