It is understandable that Democrats are frustrated at being out of power in Washington. And Democrats do not agree with the Trump Administration about the deportation of illegal immigrants by ICE. On Saturday June 14 organized anti-Trump protests called the No Kings Nationwide Day of Defiance occurred in many American cities.

At the protest in Stamford about 500 to 1,000 people showed up. Many Democrat officials were there including US Rep Jim Himes, Sen Richard Blumenthal's son and State Rep Matt Blumenthal, and Democrat candidate for Greenwich Selectperson Rachel Khanna.

It was a largely a peaceful protest and it was refreshing to see Democrats embrace the American flag for a change. However, many of the signs were not peaceful. They were hateful and provocative. This story here has an interesting up close look at the Stamford event with many photos. You can see signs with the code words 86-47 (meaning eliminate the 47th President), others with a picture of Trump with a Hitler mustache, some signs saying no ICE, no KKK, no fascist USA, and other signs saying I hope you CHOKE and I prefer my ICE CRUSHED.

Between the Lines: A number of Saturday's nationwide protests turned violent in cities including Salt Lake City, Riverside, CA, Portland, Ore, and Culpepper, VA. The many hateful signs don't help.
