Shucking, Sailing, and Science: Now That Sounds Like a Great Father’s Day at Greenwich Point!

Still trying to figure out the perfect Sunday plans for Dad? If he is interested in our coastal natural resources—or just loves being by the water—the annual Experience the Sound event is the perfect fit!


Hosted by the Greenwich Shellfish Commission, this afternoon of free, family-friendly educational activities takes place on Father's Day, Sunday, June 21, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Greenwich Point Park (Tod’s Point) in Old Greenwich.


Events and hands-on activities will happen at various locations throughout the park:


Old Greenwich Yacht Club Docks:

  • Explore the oyster boats and the Greenwich Police boat.

  • Enjoy a free raw bar featuring local clams and oysters.


Tod’s Point Sailing School:

  • Learn about sailing instruction.

  • Find out how to rent a kayak or try paddleboarding.


Bruce Museum Seaside Center (Innis Cottage):

  • Celebrate the center's seasonal opening.

  • Explore interactive exhibits on environmental conservation, gardening, shellfishing, fishing, scuba diving, and maritime traditions.


Supported by the Town of Greenwich Conservation Commission and Sustainability Committee, this event offers something for all ages while highlighting the importance of protecting and enjoying Greenwich’s natural resources. Best of all, admission to the event is completely free!
