Eduardo Calderon will take the helm this school year at Greenwich’s Julian Curtis Elementary School after being principal of Cornerstone Academy for Social Action Middle School (CASA) in the Bronx since 2020. While at CASA, Calderon was fined for conflicts of interest for living with, sharing a bank account with and purchasing a house with his direct supervisor at the time Dr. Daniel Russo who, as of last year, was appointed Principal of Greenwich’s New Lebanon Elementary School. We now have this ethically challenged couple overseeing two of our Greenwich Schools.
Was the school hiring committee and the Board of Education aware of these red flags?
