Bethenny Frankel, a 54-year-old Real Housewives of New York star, has lived in a lot of places and she has a lot of opinions about them. She recently shared her candid thoughts about living in Connecticut and, spoiler alert, she said it was "like a soul-crushing prison."

In 2021, Frankel moved to Greenwich, CT. She purchased for $4.3 million, a 3-acre estate called Applejack Farm on 731 Lake Avenue, once owned by former CT Governor Lowell Wicker. It was one of the oldest homes in Greenwich, originally built in 1743. She sold the home this year for $7.4 million and has moved to Miami, where she will join Real Housewives of Miami with other aging stars.

Frankel, whose mother died in 2024, said on her Just B podcast, "It's the honest truth, Connecticut was a burden. It was a trap. It was stifling, depressing and soul-crushing. I spend a lot of time alone...I want to feel like I am connected to nature...While I could go on nature walks in CT, now I jump in the ocean, in salt water with sand at my feet."

Frankel's 14-year-old daughter is happy about the move. She will be attending school in Florida and pursuing her volleyball career there.

Between the Lines: The reality? Frankel traded an antique colonial "prison" for a quick $3.1 million profit, her daughter's volleyball career, and a ticket to Real Housewives of Miami. The only thing "soul-crushing" about the move were the salty comments she left about Connecticut on the way out.
