An Amber Alert in Connecticut was issued for a missing 11-year-old girl on Saturday afternoon at 1:22 pm. The girl had last been seen with her 59-year-old father Richard Santiago in Manchester, CT.

Richard Santiago has an active federal warrant and it was believed the girl was with him while he was trying to flee the area. Mr. Santiago was scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday for fraudulently collecting more then $370,000 in social security, unemployment and food stamp benefits.

The father and daughter were located in Hartford, CT. He is now in custody and she is unharmed. The alert was canceled around 2 pm.

According to the Greenwich Time, Amber Alerts are unusual in Connecticut. One was issued in 2021 when a 4-year-old Middletown boy was reported missing. The boy was found safe and two people were arrested.

Between the Lines: Now let's hope the Greenwich Police soon find the guy who grabbed and then ran from the Eastern Middle School student walking to school in Riverside, CT on Thursday, Sept 11.
