Escalating costs and scarce workers overshadowed the CT Manufacturing Summit held in Hartford the week
Why? "Every year costs are going up" according to employers. We can't pass these costs onto our customers.
However, the head of the CT Economic and Community Development department says that pessimism plays a big role in holding back growth. He said we should be optimistic that CT is now the 19th fastest growing economy in the U.S. (was 49th).
The Governor's solution is to spend taxpayer money by investing in workforce development and investing in expansion of existing companies.
