Our Greenwich Neighbors: Guns, Cash, and Cocaine Seized in Stamford

On September 17, 2026, the Stamford Police Department’s Narcotics & Organized Crime Unit concluded a monthlong investigation into local cocaine distribution, arresting two individuals and seizing drugs, cash, and a firearm.
Detectives executed search warrants targeting Victor "Bachata" Martinez, 47, his vehicle, and his Vernon Place apartment. Martinez tried to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended carrying 17 bags of cocaine and $141. A search of the residence yielded another 27.5 grams of powder cocaine, $4,796 in cash, packaging materials, a digital scale, a .32-caliber handgun, and 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Martinez was charged with narcotics possession, intent to sell, and interfering with police ($2,500 bond). Co-occupant Brenis Arias-Arias, 53, was charged with operating a drug factory, illegal firearm transfer, and criminal possession of a firearm, ammunition, and narcotics ($50,000 bond). Both are scheduled for court on October 1.
Between the Lines: Following the recent fentanyl stash house bust involving "Ray Ray" Baker and Rodney Canada on nearby Hoyt Street, these arrests highlight Stamford PD’s ongoing push to clear illegal firearms and powerful drugs off the streets—making the entire area, including neighboring Greenwich, safer.
