A 35-year old New York man named Alexander Mendez was arrested for unlawfully entering and sleeping in a Greenwich apartment. At around 8:30 am on Friday April 11, Greenwich police responded to an apartment on Henry Street in the Byram section of Greenwich on a report of an unknown man sleeping on a couch without permission.

When confronted by the resident, the suspect fled through a window toward Mill Street. The police tracked him down and he was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. He admitted to breaking into the apartment to "seek shelter from the rain."
