UConn Medical School in Farmington, CT, outside of Hartford, is not a top rated school like Yale Medical, but it has a decent Tier 2 ranking.
Unfortunately, UConn Medical is connected to UConn Health Center that operates a money losing hospital and low income clinic. The UConn Health operation is losing $140 million annually and is under strategic review by Governor Lamont and state legislators.
Further troubles arose in August, when UConn Health Center had a data breach. Now, one of its professors is bringing unneeded attention to UConn with her social media posts.
Meet Dr. Laura Haynes, a professor of age-related Immunology at UConn Medical. She has posted many recent tweets on social media about her disdain for President-elect Trump and his supporters, suggesting they should be shamed and shunned. Libs of Tik Tok has recently made her famous by re-posting her tweets on the internet here.
Between the lines: The professor's tweets might not be helpful to UConn Medical in recruiting students and in assuring State legislators who are looking to cut costs. Update: Good news, her offensive tweets have been removed.
