New exit numbers are coming to the Merritt Parkway (Route 15) in Connecticut. The change to a mile-based system will begin on Monday July 28 and is expected to take 4-5 weeks.
In Greenwich, Exit 27 near Glenville will become Exit 19B; Exit 28 at Round Hill Road will become Exit 3; Exit 29 at Lake Avenue will become Exit 4; Exit 31 at North Street will become Exit 5.
This mile-based system makes CT conform with other states, helps drivers quickly determine distances, improves reporting of highway incidents, results in better navigation for emergency service and makes it easier to add future exits without renumbering the entire corridor.
Between the Lines: Finally we have a logical system for all those New York drivers who have been lost on the Merritt.
