Just Around the Corner from Greenwich: Major Stamford Fentanyl Stash House Dismantled
A key figure in a major Fairfield County narcotics ring operating just miles from the Greenwich border was handed an 18.5-year federal prison sentence on September 16.
Ramion Baker, 46, of Stamford—known as “Ray Ray”—was sentenced in federal court to 162 months in prison, running consecutively to a 10-year state sentence for three previous robberies. Baker’s extensive criminal history includes prior convictions for robbery, assault, and federal drug trafficking.
The sentencing follows a joint investigation by the DEA’s Bridgeport HIDTA Task Force and the Stamford Police Department targeting ringleader Rodney Canada. Court records reveal Baker served as a core associate, using his Hoyt Street residence in downtown Stamford (near the Stamford Courthouse) to store, package, and distribute narcotics throughout the area.
After intercepting over 5,000 calls and text messages, federal and local law enforcement executed raids across Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, and Darien. The operation yielded:
3 kilograms of cocaine and nearly 400 grams of raw fentanyl
Over 500 pre-packaged glassine bags of fentanyl
Five firearms, body armor, and seven vehicles
A search of Baker’s Hoyt Street stash house alone uncovered distribution quantities of fentanyl, 300 grams of cocaine, a .38 caliber revolver, and cash. Baker pleaded guilty in December 2025 to federal drug conspiracy and firearm charges.
