On Wednesday September 11, 2024, Greenwich will pay tribute to 33 people with Greenwich connections who lost their lives that day in 2001. Greenwich will host 2 ceremonies:

At 8:46 am a ceremony will be had at the September 11th Memorial in Cos Cob Park. The victim's names will be read while a memorial bell is rung for each person.

A second ceremony will be held at 6:30 pm at the Glenville Volunteer Fire Department headquarters.

Between the lines: The Cos Cob event is organized by Wells Noonan, whose brother Robby was in the North Tower of the World Trade Center working for Cantor Fitzgerald. The Glenville Volunteer Fire Department headquarters houses a piece of steel from the World Trade Center.
