If you’ve been looking for a quiet place to read a book lately, you might want to skip the local library this coming Wednesday evening.
Perrot Memorial Library has officially announced its upcoming event: a Pride Cabaret starring Summer Orlando, scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, at 7:00 PM. According to the library's promotional materials, residents can get ready for an "unforgettable evening of music, sparkle, and joy" featuring "powerhouse vocals, glittering costumes, and Broadway flair."
But if you read the fine print on the invitation, the logistics get a little... interesting:
The Headliner: Summer Orlando, billed as "New England’s premier live-singing drag entertainer and international sensation."
The Location: "On the Green"—which isn't the actual outdoor town green, but rather the central, green-carpeted area inside the Youth Services Department (Radcliffe Building).
The Target Audience: Adults, ages 18 and over.
