The sanctuary policies that enable illegals to hide from the law in the Connecticut have drawn the attention of federal authorities. Over a four-day period from August 12-15 federal authorities arrested 65 criminal illegals living in Stamford, Danbury and Norwalk. Most are from Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru, and Venezuela.
An August 20 release here from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said the arrests were made specifically in Connecticut under "Operation Broken Trust". Legislation like Connecticut's Trust Act, limits cooperation of state and local law enforcement with ICE. They say the Trust Act only endangers the communities it claims to protect.
Such sanctuary laws force local law enforcement to release criminal alien offenders back into the very communities they have already victimized. Pictures of those arrested and their criminal backgrounds are in the ICE press release. According to ICE, all those arrested are criminals who made the mistake of attempting to subvert justice by hiding out in Connecticut.
CT Democrat elected politicians including Attorney General Tong, Senator Blumenthal, Congressman Himes and Governor Lamont are holding press conferences and speaking at rallies decrying the way that ICE is removing criminal illegals saying it's disgusting and outright dangerous.
Between the Lines: Has anyone held a press conference or rally standing up for the victims of the crimes committed by these illegals being harbored in CT?
