You hijack a BMW SUV, back into the gas station, attach a chain and yank out the ATM - that's what happened at the Mobil station on East Putnam near Greenwich High School last weekend. Not all ATMs were that difficult to get. At the Mobil in Riverside the ATM was simply lifted in broad daylight in front of customers. Brazen.
