A controversy over who should fill an empty Republican seat on the Greenwich Board of Education (BOE) has allowed the Democrats to jump into the void. Democrat Karen Hirsh was elected by the vote of only Democrat members to serve as Chair of the BOE. Typically, the Republicans who received the most votes in the last election would select a Republican Chair.
