Greenwich therapist avoids jail time in sexual assault plea deal

Greenwich therapistu, Kevin Root, 69, was arrested in 2018 on charges of sexual assalt and tampering with a witness. This week he was sentenced to 10 years of probation after striking a plea agreement that avoided jail time.

The victim said she was seeing him after the death of her father and he used his position to manipulate her into a sexual relationship.

Mr. Root had been a licensed mental health practitioner since 1992. His office was on East Putnam Avenue in Cos Cob. He specialized in dream analysis and ran a dream group in which people discussed their nighttime visions.
