The Greenwich Police Department is investigating a pair of residential burglaries that occurred in the Glenville section of town on the evening of Thursday, February 26.

According to authorities, officers responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress shortly after 7:00 p.m. Surveillance footage from inside one of the residences showed two men entering the home, which was unoccupied at the time. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.

A massive search effort followed, utilizing multiple K-9 units and a drone to scour the area for the suspects. During the course of the on-site investigation, police discovered that a second home in the same neighborhood had also been burglarized.

Update. On Saturday, February 28, at 8:00 p.m., within a half-mile of the first burglarized home, Greenwich Police were led to a second home where fresh damage was observed to a second-story window. During a search of the home, one suspect was found hiding within a starwell that led to a small crawlspace. He was identified as 33-year-old Jonathan Rojas-Urriola and held on a $200,000 bond on charges of 2 counts of first degree Burglary, one count of possession of burglary tools and one count of sixth degree Larceny.

Between the Lines: It's a tense waiting game for Glenville residents right now. Glenville covers a lot of territory and we still don't know the specific street locations, the description of all the perpetrators, their getaway vehicle, or what they managed to steal.
