Greenwich's Backcountry Burglar—Bronx Bearded Bryan Briggs
All the facts of the arrest point to the letter "B." A suspect named Bryan Gerard Briggs of the Bronx has a full beard and an eye for Backcountry Greenwich. With no official mugshot released by authorities, we asked AI to create one.
Around 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, a Backcountry resident reported an unfamiliar bearded man attempting to enter a fenced single-family home. Confronted by the homeowner, the suspect fled south down King Street on foot.
Greenwich Police intercepted Briggs shortly after near North Bowman Drive. The homeowner was brought to the scene and positively identified him as the intruder.
Briggs was charged with third-degree attempted burglary and second-degree criminal trespass. Held on a relatively low $500 bond that he was unable to post, he was transported to Stamford Superior Court for arraignment.
Between the Lines: Beware of a burglar with a beard, especially if you live in a part of Greenwich with the letter "B."
