Data from the newly launched—though notoriously difficult to navigate—Greenwich Crime Data Portal offers fresh insight into local crime trends for June 2026. While the town saw a welcome reprieve in property crime, the news wasn’t all positive.
In total, Greenwich Police responded to 3,149 calls for service in June, with a notable volume of those calls driven by 310 false burglar alarms (compared to 286 last month) and 220 leaf blower complaints (compared to 63 last month).
Residential Burglaries: Only 1 residential burglary was reported on Baldwin Farms Drive in mid-country, continuing a reprieve from higher levels seen at the beginning of the year.
Motor Vehicle Thefts: Only 1 vehicle theft was reported on Lockwood Avenue in Old Greenwich, a welcome drop from 5 reported last month.
Larceny from Motor Vehicles (Car Break-ins): Only 1 vehicle break-in was reported on Old Field Point Road, near Equinox, a significant drop from 9 reported last month.
Between the Lines: Fortunately, serious crime is down, but Greenwich residents are still keeping the police busy with their complaints.
