The Greenwich Police Department just posted their police blotter for the month of December 2025. They received 2,997 calls for service during the month, one of the lowest months of calls of the year. Surprisingly, for the holiday season, the number of DUIs dropped to the lowest level of the year numbering only four, but the number of motor vehicle collisions were 204, the most of any month of the year.

The number of stolen vehicles and residential thefts spiked to nine and seven, respectively, during the month, but the number of car break-ins held steady at four.

Vehicle thefts The nine vehicle thefts included: Three in downtown Greenwich (Greenwich Avenue, Milbank Avenue and Railroad Avenue); one in Pemberwick (Weaver Street), one in mid-country (Midwood Road near Lake Avenue), one in back-country (Lower Cross Road near Conyers Farm), one in Old Greenwich (Shoreham Road near Shore), one in Cos Cob (Strickland Road near the Post Road), and one in Byram (Smith Street S).

Car Break-ins The four car break-ins included: one in North Mianus (Hillcrest Lane), one in Cos Cob (Bible Street near Pinetum), one in Pemberwick (North Hawthorne Street) and one in back-country (King Street near the airport).

Residential Burglaries Of the seven burglaries, four were residential: Two in mid-country (one on Birch Lane and one on Cedarwood Drive, both near Parsonage Road) and two in back-country (both on North Street near Conyers Farm).

Of Note: A porch pirate from the Bronx was caught stealing packages from a home on Cognewaugh Road. And there were two sexual assaults.

Between the Lines: Greenwich remains a soft target for crime. Don't make it easy for the thieves. Keep your cars and homes locked.
