Greenwich Man Busted in Ghost Gun and Cocaine Sting at Hutch Gas Station

A Greenwich man is facing heavy weapons and narcotics charges after allegedly using a busy commuter highway stop as his personal drive-thru for illegal sales.

The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office announced the arrest of 49-year-old Michael Larriuz following a months-long undercover sting.

The Undercover Takedown

According to prosecutors, Larriuz’s operation came crashing down after he repeatedly sold weapons and cocaine to a confidential informant. The illicit pipeline spanned nearly six months, running from mid-December through late May, with Larriuz meeting the informant on at least 10 separate occasions.

Location, Location, Location

The backdrop for this high-stakes enterprise? The Mobil gas station smack in the median of the Hutchinson River Parkway, straddling the Harrison and White Plains line.

While thousands of everyday commuters stopped for gas and coffee, investigators say Larriuz was using the venue as a regular hand-off spot. Following the extended investigation, authorities quietly closed the net and arrested him in mid-June.

Haul by the Numbers

This wasn't a small-time operation. When law enforcement finally moved in, the list of seized contraband included:

  • 22 "Ghost Guns" (untraceable, unserialized firearms, including two assault-style rifles)

  • 3 traditional handguns

  • 6 ounces of cocaine

  • High-capacity magazines

Between the Lines: It’s a stark reminder that major criminal operations don't just happen in dark alleys—sometimes, they're happening right at the next pump on your morning commute.
