Greenwich police have arrested Jeremie Alexis, 27, following a harrowing knifepoint assault that allegedly took place this past November. The allegations are brutal: Alexis is accused of strangling and sexually assaulting a victim at knifepoint within Greenwich town limits.

The investigation was a multi-town effort beginning after the victim fled to Norwalk to report the crime. Alexis was taken into custody on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, and faces a slate of some of the most serious violent crimes in the state, including first-degree sexual assault, first-degree strangulation, and first-degree unlawful restraint.

Despite the violent nature of the allegations — where bonds for Class A felonies are often set at $1 million — he is being held on a $500,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 26, 2026, in Stamford Superior Court's Part A, where the case will be handled by the Judicial District's specialized felony prosecutors. When a case moves to Part A, the "gloves are off" and conviction rates are historically high.

Social media and local records link the suspect's family to the Greenwich Close Apartments on Brookside Drive, just steps from Town Hall. These sources suggest he may have been drifting through town while using family ties as a home base. Records also indicate that Alexis has had minor brushes with the law in the past.

Between the Lines: This is not a simple Greenwich case of disorderly conduct. How could such a predator remain under the radar in the heart of town?
