If you're planning to have an emergency, you might want to check this dashboard first. The Connecticut College of Emergency Physicians (CCEP) just released a first-of-its-kind public dashboard to track hospital efficiency.
The data ranks 27 Connecticut hospitals by the average time a patient waits from the moment they arrive at the ER until they are officially admitted to a bed. Here are highlights from the rankings:
Greenwich Hospital: 3.1 hours (ranked #1)
Stamford Hospital: 4.3 hours (ranked #6)
Waterbury Health: 9.6 hours (ranked #27)
Between the Lines: If you're going to have an emergency, avoid Waterbury, where the wait is so long, you will have forgotten why you came there.
