Greenwich High School ranked 5th best in CT

The NICHE 2026 Best Public School rankings are out. Greenwich High School (GHS) was ranked the 5th best public high school in Connecticut this year, after Staples, New Canaan, Norwalk Center for Global Studies and Darien.
GHS has 2,633 students and a student-teacher ratio of 13 to 1. The #5 high school rating was consistent with 2025; however, GHS was ranked #4 prior to that.
That's an overall A+ grade. Go Cardinals.
Between the Lines: The best part of the NICHE survey are the 500 reviews here on the NICHE website. The highest ratings mention the good teachers and many activities. One of the lowest rated reviews said (with some honesty) that it was "the worst four years of my life." It goes to show that no matter how good the school is, high school is still high school.
