Greenwich High School Jumps to No. 2 in Latest U.S. News Rankings

U.S. News & World Report has released its 2026-27 rankings of the best public high schools in the United States, and Greenwich High School (GHS) secured the #2 spot in Connecticut and #194 nationally.
Connecticut IB Academy in East Hartford took the top spot in the state. Rounding out the top rankings behind Greenwich High were Weston High School, Darien High School, Staples High School in Westport, and New Canaan High School.
GHS’s jump to #2 represents a dramatic leap in performance. In last year's 2025-26 report, GHS held the #5 statewide spot with a national ranking of #419. Overall, Connecticut’s public high schools performed exceptionally well, ranking 5th nationwide behind Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, and Florida.
