Greenwich has the priciest zip codes in the Northeast

Connecticut has surpassed Massachusetts and now has the highest number of ultra-expensive zip codes in New England. Here are the top ranked zip codes and the median sale price for each:

06878 Riverside, $2.75 million

06870 Old Greenwich, $2.65 million

06831 Greenwich, $2.535 million

06820 Darien, $2.358 million

06830 Greenwich, $2.218 million

06840 New Canaan, $2.09 million

06853 Norwalk $2.059 million

On a nationwide basis, 06878 Riverside ranked #43, up 10 places from last year, 06870 Old Greenwich ranked #50, up 30 places from last. year and 06831 Northeast Greenwich ranked #83, down 19 places from last year.

Sadly, on a nationwide basis, the Northeast had one of its weakest years in a decade. At the top of the national list was Florida (Miami), California (Atherton, Newport Beach, Santa Barbara, Stinson Beach, Los Altos, Rancho Santa Fe) and New York (Sagaponack, Water Mill).

Between the Lines: Greenwich is still at the top thanks to local Republican leadership for keeping the mill rate low and thanks to Democrat socialist Mamdani's possible mayoral election for causing many wealthy Manhattan residents to flee to Greenwich.
