On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Greenwich Police arrested Glenville resident Jeffrey Caviola, age 42, for stealing copper piping from a vacant house. Caviola unlawfully entered a vacant property on Riversville Road in back country Greenwich, where he stole copper piping and caused significant damage.
The investigation began when a realtor, conducting a routine visit to the property, discovered signs of theft, including missing copper pipes from various locations within the house. The realtor also observed a suspicious vehicle parked at the scene, which was later identified as belonging to Caviola.
An interview conducted by officers revealed that Caviola had been on the property. Officers found multiple burglary tools, including a Milwaukee Sawzall, a Milwaukee grinder, wire cutters, snips, and a red bag containing a Milwaukee drill in Caviola’s vehicle.
Between the Lines. You know the economy is tough when burglars go for your copper pipes.
