Greenwich avoids the "Nationwide Day of Defiance"

Protesters across 30 Connecticut towns will take to the streets this Saturday June 14. Some of the 30 towns include Stamford, New Haven, Hartford and Bridgeport. It's interesting that Greenwich is missing from the list.

This organized political action called the "No Kings Nationwide Day of Defiance" is designed to reject the authoritarianism of Donald Trump. It's no coincidence that Saturday June 14 is Donald Trump's birthday, Flag Day and a military parade celebrating our armed forces over the years.

These protests are organized and funded by the Democratic Party and its related advocacy organizations including IndivisibleCT, Act Blue, and George Soros. The event is being heralded by our Democrat politicians including Sen Chris Murphy, Sen Dick Blumenthal and Attorney General William Tong.

With reports of paid violent protests happening in Los Angeles and elsewhere, tensions are high. Why encourage more protests at this time?

Between the Lines: Perhaps that's why the smart money in Greenwich is steering clear of this conflict.
