After years of announcements, Green & Tonic will finally open its new Old Greenwich location at 239 Sound Beach Avenue on Monday, September 22. For opening day, the first 50 customers will get a free tote and customers will get a $1 hot or iced drink all day.
Green & Tonic was started in 2012 in Darien, CT. This will be the health-focused café's ninth location overall and its third in the town of Greenwich. It has cafes in Glenville and Cos Cob in Greenwich, in Darien, Westport, New Canaan and Stamford in Connecticut and in Rye Brook and Chappaqua in New York. Menu favorites include Acai Bowls, Smoothies such as the Ultimate Warrior and Mango-Tango and Avocado Toast. Even though it is known for plant-based offerings, Green & Tonic has recently added free-range egg sandwiches to the menu.
Between the Lines: In addition to Joe's Studio, Dunkin Donuts, Sweet Peas and Birch, this will be the fifth coffee/cafe shop in the one block village of Old Greenwich.
