Robert Bryce has created a database that tallies up the number of communities that have rejected solar, wind, battery and other "green" energy projects.

His latest findings, "2025 is already a record year for solar rejections around the globe. There have already been 117 rejections or restrictions of solar energy projects around the world this year. That tally exceeds the 114 rejections that were recorded in all of 2024. Overall, the tally of rejections now stands at 1,122. The British Isles remain an epicenter of the backlash against wind, solar, and battery projects."

The state of Connecticut has notable instances of clean energy projects being rejected due to a mix of economic, regulatory and political factors. They include the Killingly Battery Storage facility (Windham Energy Center): the Vineyard Wind 2 offshore wind project; and the UConn Green Energy Project for solar energy and battery storage during power outages.

In this story entitled "Everyone Hates Solar Panels," the author says, "We never could understand why ugly wind turbines and acres of solar panels were considered "green." They aren't just eyesores. They are industrializing the wilderness of America and other nations.  No wonder people are screaming: "Not in my backyard." Of course, the loss of government subsidies serve to accelerate this trend.

Between the Lines: Did anyone mention the cost of disposing of broken or eventually ineffective turbines and panels? They are toxic waste.
