The Greenwich Police Department just published their police blotter for the month of September 2025. They received 3,382 calls for service during the month. The good news: the number of stolen vehicles are down. But car break-ins and residential burglaries continue to be an issue.
There were three vehicle thefts, a drop from 6 last month. One occurred in the Western district of Greenwich on Prospect Street near Freccia Brothers and another on West Putnam Avenue near Valley Drive.
There were five car break-ins. Two in the Western district on Gerry Street and on Rodwell Ave. Two in Cos Cob on Robertson Lane and Tremont Street and one in Byram on Henry Street.
There were two residential burglaries, one in Mead Point on Indian Field Road and another on Winterset Road near Burning Tree.
Between the Lines: Many car break-ins and burglaries are done by organized non-local operations. The days of unlocked cars and homes are over. Let's not be an easy target.
