Driving under the influence with no drivers license

On Saturday March 2 around 11:15pm, Greenwich Police spotted a vehicle weaving over the center line driving eastbound on Delavan Ave in Byram at high speed for the wet roadway conditions and ran through a red light.

The perpetrator Ruben Samayoa-Aguilar, 38, of Greenwich, failed the sobriety tests, lacked a CT Driver’s license and did not have the ignition interlock device (IID), required to be installed in his vehicle due to past DUIs. He was arrested and charged with Traveling Too Fast for Conditions, DUI, Illegal Operation Motor Vehicle without Ignition Device, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane, Driving while Using Hand Held Device, Traffic Control Signals, and Driving without a License. He was released after posting a $300 cash bond and has a date in Stamford Superior Court on March 15, 2024.

Wondering what an IID (Ignition Interlock Device) is? If you've been arrested for past DUI, you are required to pass a portable breathalyzer test hard wired to your ignition which you must pass to start up the car.

Thank goodness he didn't hurt anyone.
