CT state employees receive the most generous health care benefits in the nation, far exceeding California and New York. CT state employees contribute only 2% to healthcare while the average state employee across the nation contribute 14%. The difference is picked up by CT taxpayers who are also getting squeezed by their own rising healthcare costs..

Between the lines: The current state employee contracts are being negotiated now ahead of a June 2025 deadline. We need elected representatives who will get these costs in line with other states to make CT affordable again.
