The federal government is threatening to withhold funding from Connecticut until it fixes flaws in its sex education program. According to a federal order last week, within 60 days CT must remove references to gender identity and diversity from its teen pregnancy and sexually-transmitted disease programs.

Feds say stop poisoning minds. CT must make changes to its PREP (Personal Responsibility Education Program) by removing references to pronouns, transgender or gender nonconforming youths, gender identity and gender expression. The administration said that federal funds may not be used to poison the minds of the next generation or advance dangerous ideological agendas.

CT Governor says dangerous precedent. CT Governor Lamont (D) said that ordering states to remove educational materials is a dangerous precedent. He said, "Leave us alone. Our teachers know how to teach. Our superintendents are taking the lead. Let them make the call."

Between the Lines: Perhaps the dangerous precedent started when the federal Department of Education began ordering the states to add this ideology to educational materials back in 2011.
