CT Gov Candidate Ryan Fazio: Embracing His Clark Kent Persona

If you’ve spent any time on Instagram lately, you’ve likely caught CT State Senator and GOP gubernatorial candidate Ryan Fazio’s latest campaign reel: "It's a bird! It's a plane! No, It's Ryan Fazio."

With dark hair, neat frames, and a strong resemblance to Metropolis’s favorite mild-mannered journalist, Fazio embraces the comic book trope. The ad opens with him swooping in to rescue a group of Connecticut taxpayers tied up in a warehouse and being robbed, promising to cap electric bills and property taxes to save the state.

Will Democrats Claim "Misinformation"?

The superhero framing raises a tongue-in-cheek question: Will the Lamont campaign attack the ad for misleading voters by pointing out that Fazio isn't actually as strong as Superman?

It wouldn't be the first time campaign optics came under fire this season. Fazio’s team previously drew sharp pushback over a video framed with the caption "I'm a Democrat and I'm voting for Ryan Fazio." Opponents quickly pointed out that two of the featured "Democrats" were actually long-time local Republican party figures—a charge Fazio brushed off as a "very silly controversy."

Between the Lines: Pop-culture theatrics aside, whichever candidate delivers a convincing fix on lowering taxes and utility prices will be the real hero on Election Day.
