Credit card fraud spree on Greenwich Avenue

Two out-of-state men are facing multiple charges for making a series of fraudulent credit card purchases at high end stores on Greenwich Avenue and for engaging police in a dangerous car pursuit.
The incident occurred on Thursday May 29 around 1:30 pm. The two men started the spree by inquiring about Rolex watches at two stores. Then at Saks Fifth Avenue they purchased a $625 Chanel card holder, a $4,225 Chanel bag and luxury sneakers including an $895 pair and a $714 pair. They used fake credit cards, many of them rejected, presenting new fake cards until they worked
At around 4pm, the police caught up with their car on Arch Street. They attempted to flee, accelerating the vehicle over a curb and onto a sidewalk before crashing into a stone wall and striking a police cruiser. Inside the vehicle, police found 17 credit cards, along with receipts and designer merchandise.
Anron Wrighton, 27, from Bronx, NY, was driving a maroon Hyundai SUV with NJ Plates. He had a fraudulent NY learner's permit. He was charged with identity theft, larceny, criminal impersonation, etc. He had an extensive arrest record in NY, NJ, PA, VA, FL and NC and a criminal history of abduction, grand larceny, and credit card theft. He also has two active out-of-state felony warrants for forgery and aggravated assault. His co-conspirator, Jonathan Carrasco, 35, from Patterson, NJ, was similarly charged with identity theft, larceny, criminal impersonation, etc.
Between the lines: The out-of-state thieves are active on Greenwich Avenue and they are shopping among us. Stay alert.
