On Tuesday July 22 around 5pm, three men conspired to utilize a stolen credit card at the Hermes store located at 289 Greenwich Avenue. The suspects were Jerry Gelle, 31, Daquan Anthony West, 31, and Kyron Baptiste Baptiste, 31, all of Brooklyn, NY.
They were able to make a successful purchase for $1,786.68 and then attempted two transactions for $2,024.72 that were declined. Subsequently, a search of the vehicle revealed 11 stolen U.S. Treasury checks totaling $31,374.10, a stolen Chase check bearing the victims personal identifying information for $153,135.00, multiple pieces of stolen mail, multiple credit/debit cards bearing different names, and a counterfeit Ohio driver's license bearing the picture of one of the suspects.
Between the Lines: Isn't Hermes right around the corner from the Greenwich police station? These criminals don't seem to fear the police.
